About the role
Staffpower Group are looking for an Electrical Technician Lead Hand to join our client in Kirkbymoorside. You will support the electronics lab supervisor by overseeing daily operations, assigning work, and ensuring smooth workflow. Act on the supervisors behalf when absent, while assembling and testing electronic and electrical components, subassemblies, and assemblies to maintain quality and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prioritise and delegate work to a team of electrical technicians under guidance of the electronics lab supervisor.
* Act on behalf of the supervisor in their absence.
* Assist senior electrical technicians in maintaining departmental quality standards.
* Monitor workflow to ensure workload is consistently managed through the department.
* Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed by all staff.
* Verify completed work and ensure documentation is correctly processed.
* Monitor department efficiency and assist in meeting project deadlines, integration dates, and tooling/spares completion.
Skills and Experience
* ONC in Electronic & Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* IEEE 16th Edition accreditation preferred.
* Strong understanding of low-voltage AC/DC panel wiring, high-voltage installations, control/data systems, and fibre optic handling (desirable).
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MRP systems, and stock management software.
* Experience with production processes and electrical/electronic systems.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical sketches.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work under pressure, manage details, and drive workload through the department.
* Willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis (desirable).
