Senior Support Worker / Team Leader : Residential Children Home
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Childrens Residential Home Team Leader to oversee daily operations within their childrens home. They have a two:bedded home offering medium to long:term placements for looked:after children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, mild mental health needs, and mild learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of care staff and ensuring the delivery of high:quality care tailored to each childs individual needs. Duties:
* Lead and supervise a team of care workers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective service delivery.
* Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multi:disciplinary teams.
* Monitor daily routines to promote safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour among children.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and organisational policies relating to child protection and safeguarding.
* Facilitate training sessions and team meetings to promote professional development and team cohesion.
* Maintain accurate documentation related to care plans, incident reports, and progress notes using IT systems.
* Foster strong communication channels between children, families, external agencies, and staff members.
* Organise activities that support the emotional, social, and educational development of children in residence.
* Assist with transport arrangements by driving when necessary to facilitate appointments or outings.
Experience:
* Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care environment specialising in childrens services.
* Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
* Experience in developing and implementing individualised care plans for young people.
* Strong communication skills suitable for liaising with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
* Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
* Driving experience is desirable; valid driving licence essential for transporting children when required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a childrens residential care setting, with experience in a supervisory or senior role preferred.
Qualifications: A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or equivalent (Level 4 or willingness to work toward it is advantage).
Knowledge: Familiarity with safeguarding practices, regulatory standards, and behaviour management techniques.
