We are seeking like-minded individuals who are enthusiastic about shaping and developing new ways of working. The service handles a high volume of skin cancer referrals, a broad range of inflammatory skin conditions (including hidradenitis suppurativa), paediatric dermatology, and severe eczema care. We work closely with the Royal London Hospital as our local tertiary centre.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
* Undertake outpatient clinics for adult dermatology patients.
* Participate in providing skin cancer services by attending MDT meetings and skin cancer clinics.
* Participate in the organisation and provision of undergraduate and postgraduate dermatology education.
* Share responsibility with colleagues for providing evidence-based standards of care for all inpatients and outpatients.
* Maintain continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties.
* Liaise effectively and in a timely manner with General Practitioners and other external agencies.
* Provide leadership to all junior staff engaged in the specialty.
* Work in accordance with trust policies and procedures, including the Code of Behaviour.
* Contribute to clinical practice within the parameters of Homerton’s business plans and contractual requirements.
* Participate fully in the management and service development of the Dermatology Department and liaise with the Clinical Lead, Service Manager and Divisional Operations Director.

Person Specification
Essential
* Qualifications: On GMC specialist register relevant to the post or Specialist Registrar within 6 months of GMC admission by date of interview; MRCP (or equivalent); highest level of Child Protection training.
* Relevant experience in adult and paediatric dermatology; familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices.
* Clinical skills: competence across the whole UK dermatology curriculum.
* Leadership and professionalism: ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions, and respond to service needs.
* Management: awareness of the hospital business environment and the importance of good clinical coding; understood the broader health service context.
* Teaching & training: experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
* Clinical Governance: evidence of contribution to audit and clinical risk management.
* Communication: clear written and spoken English; IT skills and computer literacy.
* Research: understanding of principles and application of clinical research; willingness to engage in relevant research.
Desirable
* Experience/interest in a specialist area such as hair.
* Experience of educational supervision or teaching qualifications.
* Familiarity with current health service structure and recent initiatives.
* Experience managing teams, programmes, or projects.
* Experience of practical research or publication of peer-reviewed papers.
