FINTEC recruit is seeking a Storesperson working within logistics & procurement for our fast growing marine engineering client in South Shields. This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, early finish on Fridays. Salary negotiable by experience. Experience of working within an MOD or military or Naval background is desirable. There will be UK security clearance with this role.
Responsibilities:
To handle, store and distribute sensitive and high value assets
Safely Operate lifting equipment & forklifts, cranes to move and store equipment and materials
Experience of inventory management such as receiving, inspecting and storing assets and equipment securely and documented
Use an inventory management system to track asset movement, stock leels
Regular stock checks and audits, meeting compliance & regulations
Oversee safe loading and unloading of deliveries, checking goods against orders and stored correctly
Inspect and maintain lifting equipment, cranes forklifts and ther tools
Assist with receipt and distribution of incoming goods, ensure proper storage and inventory updates
Skills and Experience required for the Storesperson role:
Proven experience in stores or inventory management, preferably within a defence, government, or industrial setting.
Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and other lifting equipment safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
Strong knowledge of asset management processes, including inventory control, stock audits, and documentation procedures.
Ability to maintain accurate records and track high-value government assets.
Experience working with government assets or equipment, with a strong understanding of security and compliance requirements.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Relevant experience/ certification in forklift, crane, or other lifting equipment operation (e.g., forklift operator certification, crane operator training).
A background in inventory management, logistics, or a related field.
