Job Advert: SEND Learning Mentor - Temp to Perm Location : Cradley Heath Salary : Competitive, based on experience Start Date : ASAP Monarch Education is excited to be recruiting an experienced and patient SEND Learning Mentor to join a 'Good' school with a very supportive and progressive Team, within Key Stage 2. This role is a temp to perm opportunity, offering the chance to take on the next step in your career and make a real difference. The ideal SEND Learning Mentor will be an experienced SEND Learning Mentor, with a proven track record in supporting and engaging children that need additional care. We are hoping to recruit someone with a strong commitment to creating engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. Key Responsibilities of a SEND Learning Mentor: Supporting Teaching and Learning : Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated intervention style sessions for students in Key Stage 2, ensuring that all lessons meet the needs of every child in your class. Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment where all children feel valued and supported to achieve their potential. Use a range of behaviour techniques and strategies, including practical activities, to promote active learning and ensure high levels of student engagement. Assessment and Progress : Regularly assess and track the progress of students, using a variety of methods, to monitor their development. Provide constructive, formative feedback to students and adapt lesson plans based on their individual needs and EHCP's. Set clear targets for students and support them in achieving their personal and academic goals. Collaboration and Teamwork : Work collaboratively with colleagues in the primary school team to plan cross-curricular activities and share teaching strategies. Participate in school meetings, training, and collaborative planning sessions. Maintain open lines of communication with parents and carers to keep them informed about student progress and school events. Personal Development : Continue to develop professionally by attending training sessions and workshops relevant to your practice. Personal Specification: Qualifications : A recognised qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning Experience : Experience teaching in Key Stage 2 in a mainstream Primary or alternative provision A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum Experience working with children with a range of learning needs Skills and Attributes : Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive, inclusive environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Previous exposure to EHCP's and planning sessions alongside them Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions efficiently.
