Job overview
An experienced Nurse or Audiologist can join the Advanced Primary Care Service for Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) three days per week at either Oswestry Health Centre or Marysville Medical Practice, Shrewsbury with various clinic locations around Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, necessitating travel.
Previous training and experience of audiology and micro-suction ear care, clinical leadership is an advantage. There is currently no professional qualification in the speciality for nursing – the post holder will be expected to complete such a course if one becomes available.
Main duties
The successful applicant will utilise advanced ENT skills to offer assessment, treatment and care planning for ENT patients alongside an Associate Practitioner and GP with Extended Role (GPwER). They will provide audiology, micro-suction ear care and extended role assessment, patient management, liaise with Team Lead and GPwER partners and manage and develop APCS HCA.
Responsibilities
* Assess, treat, and plan care for ENT patients.

Qualifications
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration, or HCPC, or RCCP registration.
* First level degree in healthcare-related subject or equivalent; BSc in Healthcare Science (Audiology) or similar science degree followed by postgraduate qualification.
* Prescriber or willing to undertake prescriber training.
Experience
* Significant experience and knowledge of the ENT field, evidence of learning such as study days, workshops.
* Substantial recent post-registration experience in a specialist ENT setting.
* Experience as an autonomous practitioner.
* Previous responsibility for clinical supervision of staff/students.
Other
* Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Knowledge and Skills
* Coordinate a discrete caseload of patients referred for nurse management.
* Knowledge of Advanced Primary Care principles.
* IT skills to ECDL level; experience with Electronic Patient Records.
* Evidence of research-based practice.
* Ability to undertake audits and surveys.
