Job Description:
The role requires:
* Commitment to complete 12 meetings (11 x 90 minutes in length and 1 x 120 minutes in length) and also spend time preparing for the sessions, uploading the audio recordings and scanning the author amends for the writer after the sessions
* Ability to work as part of a virtual team and to agreed timescales
* Ability to follow procedures and work to directed instructions from the team’s project manager
* Good IT skills to be able to learn how to use a recording machine and scanner to specified settings and upload to our online database
* Commitment to complete an online training, which covers the technical and soft skills required for the position
* Living in close proximity to the author to allow for short travel times of less than 10 miles or 30 minutes
* A desire to work with and build a relationship and life story with the author
* Proven ability to structure a conversation to ensure all relevant information is obtained in a sensible order
* An interest in social history and people’s stories, from the everyday to the exceptional
* Active listening and strong verbal communication skills
* Empathy, patience and an open manner
* Open-minded and non-judgemental
