Job overview
The Service Manager is a key role within the Critical Care, Anaesthetics and Theatres Collaborative and is accountable to the General Manager. This role involves the delivery of operational performance targets, finance, HR and quality standards within the designated portfolio.
The Service Manager works in partnership with clinical leads and teams to ensure that activity and quality targets are achieved and will also develop action plans to support service improvements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder works closely with the senior Collaborative team and supports the General Manager in developing services and ensuring long‑term sustainability. The role includes responsibility for staff and budgetary management within a portfolio, ensuring that performance targets and strategic objectives are met, and supporting theatre scheduling to meet trust capacity and demand requirements.

Security and DBS
This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. The cost of the DBS is met by the successful candidate through salary deduction:

* Enhanced Check: £56.00 (deducted over 4 months or one‑off)

Qualifications
* Professional qualification to Masters level or equivalent professional education in a relevant field
* Training in leadership and management skills in an NHS setting
