Overview
Join Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Rotational Pharmacist. This role is a progression opportunity from Band 6 to Band 7, offering bespoke training for community pharmacists and support for the transition into hospital pharmacy.
We are rolling out a dedicated ward pharmacy service on medical wards, providing pharmacists with the chance to apply clinical skills and enhance patient care. The role also offers the opportunity to study for a postgraduate clinical diploma at De Montfort University, Leicester, in partnership with local hospital pharmacies.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide rotations across medicine (cardiology, respiratory, care of the elderly, endocrine), urgent care (medical admission wards, ED, frailty unit), surgery, paediatrics, and acute admissions.
* Deliver ward‑based clinical commitments, supported by a dedicated senior pharmacist for developmental guidance.
* Participate in on‑call service, gaining experience and confidence in out‑of‑hours patient care.
* Support training at the local Medicines Information Centre and other off‑site educational initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
* UK registered pharmacist, preferably with community pharmacy experience.
* No previous hospital experience is required.
* Commitment to progression from Band 6 to Band 7.
