Jenson Fisher is delighted to bring to market the position of Company Accountant with an instantly recognisable, thriving SME based in Dundee. The primary function of this role is to ensure that all accounting functions pertaining to the operation of all Group Companies are carried out accurately and timeously. The Company Accountant will work alongside the Office Manager and report into the Managing Director of the business and play a pivotal role in ongoing, continued success.
With firm roots in the areas, our client have been in operation for over 100 years and are widely acknowledged for delivering quality products and services across their business areas. Fast-forward to 2025 and they are now a £6m turnover business, employing over 130 members of staff whilst continuing to thrive in the areas in which they operate.
Company Accountant – Key Responsibilities
• Management accounts including variance analysis.
• Preparation of year end accounts.
• Payroll including year end HMRC submissions.
• Preparation of P11Ds.
• Stock Control.
• Bank Reconciliations and cashbook management.
• Nominal Ledger Reconciliations.
• VAT.
• Financial Management and Cashflow.
• Inter-company reconciliations.
• Managing business insurance and utility contacts
• Maintenance of macros in spreadsheets.
• Property Administration.
• Maintenance of Asset Ledger.
• Pension Reconciliations.
• Company Secretarial and preparation of national statistics.
• Land Valuation and Rental Returns.
• Negotiation of Banking Annual Fees and Charges.
• Consistently improving processes and procedures, implementing new systems as required.
• Assist the Managing Director with the creation of Budgets.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
• Significant experience in a finance management role, preferably within the private sector for an SME business.
• Full accounting qualification (ACCA/CA/CIMA) or experience to render you QBE.
• Strong experience utilising financial software is essential.
• Possession of excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• First class communication and interpersonal skills.
• High levels of integrity and attention to detail.
