Offer description

We are hiring!

Here at Ivybank Vets, we are looking for a friendly and approachable Veterinary Receptionist to join our team!

This position is primarily based at our Kilmarnock Practice, but cover is often needed at our other branches in Irvine, Kilwinning, and West Kilbride, so the successful candidate must be able to drive.

As the first point of contact, our receptionists play a vital role in ensuring that our clients and their pets have a welcoming and positive experience. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, a warm and compassionate demeanour, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment. You will be joining a small, close-knit team that supports one another, creating a friendly and supportive environment.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Liaising with clients and clinical staff to provide high-quality customer care.
2. Meeting and greeting clients and pets.
3. Booking appointments and managing diaries.
4. Handling telephone and email enquiries.
5. Processing payments for services and products.
6. Managing cash and end-of-day banking.
7. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and pets.
8. Some experience in telephony and computer skills is necessary, as this is a busy practice.
9. Training will be provided, with opportunities to develop customer service skills.

This is a part-time, permanent role working 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:15 am and 7:00 pm, plus every second Saturday morning for 4 hours.

Why Join Us?

Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive, friendly multidisciplinary environment where experienced vets, nurses, and support staff work closely together to deliver exceptional care. You will have a varied caseload covering medical, surgical, and nurse-led clinics, with access to well-equipped facilities including advanced diagnostics and surgical tools. We are committed to your professional development through regular training sessions and all-staff meetings, as well as opportunities for career progression. We also offer flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.

Benefits include:

* 6.6 weeks of annual leave (FTE)
* Additional leave for your birthday, added to your holiday allowance
* Enhanced family-friendly policies, including maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental, and surrogacy pay
* Cycle to work scheme
* Employee wellbeing initiatives
* Support for non-accidental injury cases
* Learning and development opportunities through the IVC Evidensia Academy
* Pawsome Benefits - discounts and cashback via Reward Gateway
* Pension scheme
* Discounted staff pet care
