We are currently seeking a Deputy Home Manager to join our team at a residential service in Wisbech. Are you caring and compassionate, with a desire to support children and young people? Are you looking for a supportive team and a company to grow with? If yes, this could be the role for you!
This is a permanent position supporting both children and young adults.
We offer:

* Shifts scheduled 4 weeks in advance
Main Purpose of the Job
* Assist the manager in meeting the aims of the Statement of Purpose.
* Act as Deputy in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Support and manage staff to meet the needs of children and young people.
* Engage in direct work with children and young people.
* Manage child protection concerns and complaints.
* Collaborate with other professionals for positive outcomes.
* Supervise and support senior staff per National Minimum Standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
Meeting children's needs:
* Assign a key worker to each young person.
* Ensure staff are aware of each child's plan and responsibilities.
* Participate in reviews and planning meetings.
* Engage in direct work and serve as a role model.
* Develop systems for young people's feedback on care quality.
* Maintain accurate records for monitoring and evaluation.
* Work with parents, carers, and professionals to safeguard welfare.
* Chair children's meetings and facilitate consultations.
* Act as an adult during PACE interviews.
Managing staff:
* Provide leadership and direction.
* Assist with recruitment, induction, and probation supervision.
* Balance control with empowering staff decision-making.
* Plan shifts and ensure smooth operations.
* Offer support and supervision to staff.
* Identify and develop staff training needs.
* Conduct staff appraisals and address conduct issues.
* Lead investigations when necessary.
* Support professional development and team communication.
* Ensure staff adherence to policies and standards.
Resource management:
* Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
* Manage budgets and monitor finances.
* Ensure vehicle and building maintenance.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
* Secondary education with good literacy and numeracy.
* NVQ 3 in caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent).
* Working towards NVQ 4.
* Valid driving license.
* Knowledge of NVQ 4 standards and National Minimum Standards.
* Understanding of Equal Opportunities and relevant legislation.
* Team building and supervision skills.
* Effective communication skills.
* Experience with BESD children and managing challenging behaviour.
