Risk, Audit, Insurance & Business Continuity Manager

Lancashire (Hybrid)

£45,000 – £55,000 per annum

Permanent | Full-time

As they enter an ambitious new growth phase under their 2026–2030 Corporate Plan, they're strengthening their governance foundation with a key new leadership role: Risk, Audit, Insurance & Business Continuity Lead.

Reporting directly to Director level, this is a pivotal opportunity to shape a cohesive, enterprise-wide risk and assurance framework, driving transformation from reactive oversight to proactive, strategic governance.

The Role

You’ll bring clarity, confidence, and control to how we manage risk, audit, insurance, and business continuity across our three diverse divisions.

Key responsibilities include:

Risk Management (50–60%)

* Integrate three divisional risk maps into a single enterprise view.

* Introduce control effectiveness testing and assurance frameworks.

* Redesign risk reporting to provide meaningful insight and board assurance.

* Lead the definition of group risk appetite and tolerance.

* Embed regulatory risk analysis across all board and executive papers.

Internal Audit Coordination

* Oversee audit planning, terms of reference, and pre-audit preparation.

* Ensure audit findings translate into clear risk register updates and action tracking.

* Drive closure of recommendations and ensure alignment between audit and risk.

Insurance Portfolio Management

* Provide strategic oversight of group insurance arrangements.

* Manage claims processes and optimize risk transfer strategies.

Business Continuity Planning

* Design, test, and embed group-wide business continuity frameworks.

* Coordinate crisis management, response, and recovery planning.

About You

You’re an experienced risk or assurance professional who thrives in complex, multi-divisional environments. You know how to connect the dots between risk, audit, and governance and you have the credibility to influence at board level while supporting operational teams to succeed.

Essential:

* Professional risk management qualification (IRM or similar).

* 5+ years’ experience in enterprise risk management.

* Strong internal audit coordination or oversight experience.

* Proven track record in complex or regulated organizations.

* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of housing regulation or public sector governance.

* Experience in control testing and assurance methodologies.

* Background in insurance or business continuity management.
