Job summary: This advert is for qualified staff nurses only. Are you a registered paediatric nurse who is motivated, enthusiastic and committed? Then this job may be for you. We are seeking a 24 hour part time Band 5 nurse to work in our busy children\'s outpatients department based at Barnsley Hospital. Children\'s services have undergone transformational change over the past 3 years, including outpatients and its recovery from Covid 19. Our Children\'s outpatients department has a highly regarded children\'s phlebotomy service. The ideal candidate would have or be willing to undertake phlebotomy in children and be someone who likes a fast-paced working environment.

Responsibilities
* Provide effective clinical and holistic, family-centred care to patients and families during their out-patient appointment, ensuring delivery is to the highest standard.
* Maintain evidence-based practice at all times and update own knowledge and skills in line with Trust policies, the multidisciplinary team and the NMC Code.
* Develop leadership skills and actively participate in service development.
* Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management for children and young people.
* Participate in the supervision and teaching of new members of staff including nursing students and paramedics.
* Willingness to undertake phlebotomy in children where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Essential: Registered children\'s nurse; Hold a current NMC registration.
* Desirable: Registered general nurse.

* Knowledge of current NHS nursing agenda
* Experience in venepuncture or willingness to undertake training
