North Cumbria Podiatry team are looking to recruit a B6 podiatrist. The department has a good skill mix including advanced and specialist podiatrists, podiatry assistants and administrative staff. Currently we maintain high risk, biomechanics and nail surgery caseloads. As a specialist podiatrist you will triage and treat a variety of podiatric problems and provide foot health education to patients and other stakeholders.
Opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in specialist areas are available through our close links with the multi‑disciplinary diabetic foot team and North Cumbria MSK service.
Responsibilities
* Be a specialist practitioner with a high degree of autonomy across a variety of settings.
* Prioritise and manage your own workload and, when required, offer clinical supervision to less experienced podiatrists and podiatry assistants.
* Be expected to triage, assess, diagnose and implement individual treatment plans for a variety of conditions including long‑term conditions, neurological conditions, vascular problems, wound management / sharp debridement, biomechanical assessment, manufacture of orthoses and nail surgery. The post holder will also be expected to discharge following a set criteria.
* Be provided with peer support, continued professional development and regular clinical supervision.
* Deliver educational packages to podiatry colleagues and the wider healthcare team.
