Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a General Manager to join our team in Bristol, supporting our customer Sainsbury’s. As a General Manager, you will provide inspirational leadership and management for the fast‑paced site in Bristol while continuing to develop added value to customer propositions in order to strengthen organisational dependencies and partnerships.
This is a full‑time, permanent position and even though contracted Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00, this is a 24/7 operation, and you’ll need to offer a level of flexibility in terms of working hours – no two weeks are the same, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £100,000.00 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Responsibilities
* Manage the site’s leadership teams achieving operational delivery performance and adherence to all company and customer/site KPI’s
* Liaise and build rapport with the customer to allow for collaborative working and the defining of shared goals and objectives
* Lead the change management on site, with a focus on CI, health and safety
* Maintain effective and open communication links positively encouraging teamwork
Qualifications
* Significant experience in a fast‑moving logistics environment; previous grocery experience would be ideal!
* Strong financial acumen – you’ll be accountable for a multi‑million‑pound budget
* Ability to coach and develop senior managers along with experience of managing trade‑union relationships
* Experience in a customer‑facing role, with exposure to project management, driving change and implementing a CI culture
