DERMATOLOGY OUTPATIENTS – BORDERS GENERAL HOSPITAL
DERMATOLOGY STAFF NURSE – 2 posts x 21 hours per week, Permanent. Posts based in Outpatients A in Borders General Hospital.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Dermatology Service where the team are developing a new model of care. We would like enthusiastic registered nurses who have an interest in Dermatology to join us to develop the service and deliver treatments.
Responsibilities
* Current nursing services provided include: application of topical treatments and dressings for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis; management of wounds including leg ulcers with the application of compression bandages; provision of skin therapies such as ultraviolet B Phototherapy, Photodynamic Therapy and Iontophoresis; providing support and advice for patients and carers regarding acute and chronic skin diseases; assisting in skin biopsy procedures; contact allergy testing; and others; there will be the opportunity to train to undertake nurse-led lesion photography clinics.
* Work to develop the Dermatology Service and deliver treatments as part of the new model of care.
* Training, in-house training and further study involved, and possibly placements outwith NHS Borders.
* The post holder will be required to undertake Exposure Prone Procedures.
Qualifications
* Experience in dermatology nursing is preferred but training will be given – in-house training and further study involved, and possibly placements outwith NHS Borders.
* 2 posts x 21 hours per week, Permanent; training will be provided.
* Right to work in the United Kingdom; pre-employment checks by NHS Scotland Boards will check entitlement to work; GOV.UK guidance applies.
* Possibility of sponsorship via UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa in certain circumstances, subject to being a licensed Sponsor and salary thresholds; information on these criteria will be provided.
