Technology Risk & Assurance Manager

We’re looking for a Technology Risk & Assurance Manager to provide expert assurance and risk management services across our Technology function. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape audit strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and lead initiatives that strengthen our governance and risk frameworks.
As part of the Internal Distribution Services (IDS) Global Risk Assurance team and a member of the UK Risk Assurance leadership team, you’ll deliver visible leadership, drive continuous improvement, and ensure our audit approach remains agile and innovative in an increasingly digital environment.

About the Role
• Lead Technology Audit Strategy – Ensure quality, independence, and professional excellence.
• Drive Improvement – Boost efficiency and effectiveness of Risk Assurance.
• Shape Audit Plan – Recommend risk-based technology audits aligned to priorities and emerging risks.
• Deliver Agile Audits – Execute UK technology audits at pace using innovative solutions.
• Provide Integrated Assurance – Support non-tech audits with technology testing.
• Report with Impact – Produce clear, actionable reports highlighting key risks and solutions.
• Influence Governance – Present updates to governance committees and support Audit & Risk reporting.
• Enable Risk Management – Run workshops, maintain registers, and embed risk processes with key indicators.
• Collaborate Globally – Partner on international audit planning and deliver group-wide tech audits.
• Lead & Develop Teams – Offer visible leadership and build technology audit capability.
About You
We’re looking for a proven leader with deep expertise in technology risk and assurance. You’ll bring:
• A recognised Technology Audit qualification and at least five years’ experience in technology internal auditing or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ISO 2700X, ITIL), project governance (PRINCE2, Agile), and ideally SAP or similar enterprise systems.
• Understanding of cyber and information security principles.
• Excellent communication skills—able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at Executive level.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Commercial awareness and adaptability in a complex, fast-paced environment
