Anexciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivatedindividual as a Resuscitation Officer, to join a dedicated team within AdultResuscitation Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. There isavailability for an individual looking for 37.5 hours as a secondment/fixedterm for 12 months.
Thepost holder will support the Adult Resuscitation Officers in the delivery ofin hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation skillstraining of multidisciplinary Trust staff in the emergency medical managementof acutely ill adults. As such you will be expected to possess a recognisedteaching qualification.

Main duties of the job
Thepost holder will support the Resuscitation Officers in the statutorymandatory resuscitation training, and education around the deterioratingpatient for all clinical staff employed by the Trust across all Adult areas.This may also involve supporting staff within the ward environment. The postholder will assist with auditing of adult medical emergency/cardiac arrestprocedures; including equipment within clinical areas and cardiac arrestbleep testing. The post holder will be involved with implementation of anyresuscitation equipment changes required for the Resuscitation Trollies andmaintain familiarity with all equipment. They will also be required to carrythe crash bleep and respond to 2222 calls as situation arise.

AssistResuscitation Officers with implementation of any equipment changes requiredfor the resuscitation trolleys and maintain familiarity with all equipment.
Managecleaning, maintenance and storage of resuscitation training equipment,ensuring the equipment is appropriately stocked, checked and available foruse.
Contributeto the implementation of resuscitation and deteriorating patient policythroughout the Trust and recognise potential areas for service improvementwhich may involve suggestions received from staff that should be promptlyreferred to the Resuscitation Officers.
Carrythe crash bleep and respond to 2222 calls as required.

Experience
* Experience in the adult acute care environment
* In depth knowledge & clinical competence in Resuscitation and the care of the deteriorating adult/critically ill adults
* Evidence of theoretical, educational and clinical development related to the field of adult resuscitation/acute care
* Ability to teach, supervise and assess qualified and unqualified staff
* Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and management colleagues
* Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to manage time and prioritise own workload
* Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
