More information can be found on What you'll be doing The House of Commons is looking for a Head of Public Engagement to lead the Select Committee Public Engagement Team within the Select Committees Team (SCT). This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how Parliament engages with the public, ensuring people across the UK understand the work of select committees and feel empowered to contribute to inquiries that influence government policy and decision-making. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership to a high-performing team delivering events, engagement activities and public involvement opportunities across both Houses of Parliament. Working closely with committee teams, communications colleagues and stakeholders, you will help develop innovative ways to increase participation, strengthen collaboration and ensure public engagement activity delivers meaningful impact. This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 40% of your time in the office. What we're looking for Experience of using good practice within the fields of public engagement, external affairs, or events management to improve services. Ability to use a creative approach to establishing new ways of working. Experience of using specialist knowledge for strategic planning. Ability to lead on strategy development and implementation of initiatives against tight deadlines to high standards of quality, and to adapt to changing circumstances. Experience of persuading and influencing at all levels, including upwards. Experience of providing clear and persuasive advice based on specialist knowledge.
