The Department for Communities (DfC) is seeking a qualified and experienced Staff Officer Accountant to join its Resource Accounting team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to accurate financial reporting and support key business processes within a dynamic public sector environment.
Your New Role
As a Staff Officer Accountant, you will:
\t
* Prepare and post monthly journals
\t
* Liaise with stakeholders to investigate and resolve reconciling items
\t
* Complete general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations
\t
* Provide financial information for the Annual Report and Accounts
\t
* Support the production of accounts and VAT returns
\t
* Undertake other ad hoc finance duties as required
Office attendance is required on Mondays and Tuesdays at Causeway Exchange, Belfast.
What You'll Need to Succeed
\t
* Professionally qualified accountant
\t
* At least one year's experience within the last five years in a finance-related environment, in one or more of the following areas:
\t
* Financial planning and budgeting
\t
* Financial accounting/auditing
\t
* Forensic accounting/insolvency-related work
\t
* Management accounting and cost analysis
\t
* Investment finance
\t
* Treasury management
\t
* Development/implementation of financial systems
What You'll Get in Return

* Hourly Rate: £24-£25 per hour (£41,272 annually)
\t
* Contract: Temporary (12 months+) which will open the doors to putting yourself forward for the permanent external competitions coming up in the NICS with the help of your line manager and team
\t
* Hours:37 per week | Monday-Friday| Flexible start and finish times
\t
* Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days in office / 3 days from home
\t
* Flexibility:Flexi-time available
