About The Business Division
The Water Utilities Division is Mott MacDonald’s centre of excellence for responding to the UK and Ireland\'s water and wastewater challenges. Our teams provide services across the full project life cycle, from advisory services and feasibility studies to outline and detailed design.
Overview Of The Role
The Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team is one of five sub-sectors within our Water Utilities Division, employing around 350 people across the UK. We work in the water sector and with other infrastructure providers in the UK and internationally across the following workstreams:
* Technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions such as annual performance reporting, business cases, business plans, long-term strategic plans, operational performance, and deliverables
* Water resource investment planning
* Wastewater and bioresources investment planning
* Strategic asset management and business planning
* Carbon and net zero appraisal and strategic planning
* Integrated systems management
* Data analytics and decision support tools
* Contract’s appraisal (NEC, PPP)
We have an exciting opportunity in our Technical Assurance workstream for a senior role. As a Senior Professional for Assurance, you will contribute to our assurance delivery for clients, reporting to the Workstream Lead, and being a key part of the Assurance Team and the wider asset management practice community.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical assurance for statutory regulatory submissions and associated documents
* Support water resources, wastewater, and bioresources investment planning
* Contribute to strategic asset management and business planning
* Apply carbon and net-zero appraisal and strategic planning principles
* Utilise data analytics and decision support tools to inform delivery
* Present assurance findings clearly through formal and informational presentations and reports
* Adapts to changing situations and responds proactively to opportunities and risks
* Undertake assignments across the UK and international visits as required
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Regulatory technical assurance experience linked to the water industry's AMP cycles
* Academic and professional qualifications with relevant skills and experience
* Background in engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, auditing and technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions
* Skills in asset management ISO standards and requirements, technical audits, and assessment of regulatory impacts on service outputs and performance metrics
* Experience delivering technical assurance work within regulatory submission timescales
* Membership of a professional body and/or water regulatory networks
* Ability to present assurance findings clearly in written and spoken form
* Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and proactively respond to opportunities and risks
* Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK and short international visits
