EXCITINGOPPORTUNITY FOR A NEWLY QUALIFIED GP

Weare looking for someone who has excellent clinical skills to play an activerole in our friendly semi-rural GP practice. The practice has an approachabledynamic Partnership and offers professionally rewarding working conditionscentred on a patient holistic ethos. Main duties of the job

* Undertake Consultations in all clinical settings as directed. Theseconsultations will cover the breadth of the Practices GMS and Enhanced Serviceobligations and you will be expected to support the Partners in providing suchservices as outlined in the GMS Contract and any national, directed or localenhanced services
* Maintain and keep good standards of clinical records at alltimes and to work within Practice policy for prescribing
* Required to give due regard to the Quality and OutcomesFramework (QOF) and Investment and Impact Fund (IIF)
* Share the daily responsibility of checking and signingprescription requests, dealing with patient queries and providing clinicalsupervision to the nursing team, registrars, medical students and supportto the management team and administrative staff as appropriate
* Support and input into the aims of the Practice in areasincluding clinical governance, best practice, clinical audits
* Participate in immunisationand vaccination programmes for individual patients in line with local andnational guidelines.
* Administer First Aid including resuscitation ifrequired
* Receive and refer patients when appropriate
* Understand and adhere to the Policies andProcedures of the Practice
* Update the computerised records by codingactivities appropriately
* Join in a duty rota system within theclinical team, share visiting patients and cover for colleagues byundertaking extra shifts when required

Our practice list is about 13,000 patients so small enough for you to know our patients well. We are also part of the Daventry Primary Care Network (31,000 patients) so we can offer the best of both worlds a small country practice, yet with the support of a large PCN network behind you so you can concentrate on patient care.

Thepractice itself is located in close proximity to Daventry Town centre in amodern purpose-built Primary Care Facility (2006) and adjoins Danetre CommunityHospital which offers a wide range of in patient and out patient servicesincluding x ray. The building has provided our team with a contemporary workingenvironment which has allowed the Practice to flourish and we envisagecontinued growth and development in coming years.

Our transport links aregreat - Based in the midlands it is an easy place tocommute to (easy links with the M1, M45, M6, M40, M42)


Job responsibilities

Asa member of the Practice Clinical Team you will:

* Provide primary healthcare services to Patients in all requiredenvironments.
* Participate in Practice activities including clinicaland staff meetings, audits, and relevant CPD activities;
* Have a role in the development of the Practice.
* Contribute to the Practices activities relatingto its functions of training and research

Youwill be expected to:

* Share the daily responsibility of checking and signingprescription requests, dealing with patient queries and providing clinicalsupervision to the nursing team, registrars, medical students and supportto the management team and administrative staff as appropriate.
* Support and input into the aims of the Practice in areasincluding clinical governance, best practice, clinical audits and anyother improvement activity as determined by the Practice.
* Participate in immunisationand vaccination programmes for individual patients in line with local andnational guidelines.

* Update the computerised records by codingactivities appropriately and at the time of the consultation, usingtemplates where appropriate and comply with computer based informationrequirements.
* Join in a duty rota system within theclinical team, share visiting patients and cover for colleagues byundertaking extra shifts when required to ensure the service requirementsare met.
* Anyother duties that may be required of you to ensure service requirementsare met.

Qualifications

* Eligible to Practice independently as a GP in the UK
* Full GMC Registration with GP Registration
* Entry onto the Medical Performers List
* MRCGP
* Qualified GP Trainer


Experience

* Knowledge/Skills
* Experience of working within UK Primary Care within the last 3 years
* General understanding of the GMS contract, and in particular the Quality and Outcomes Framework
* - Word processing
* - Spreadsheet applications
* - Email


Other

* Membership of a recognised medical indemnity organisation
* Flexibility of working hours/ able to work at the desired times
* Willingness to attend occasional meetings away from the
* Practice
