Responsibilities
* Collaborate with a dedicated team to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for children and young people.
* Support and supervise a wide range of fun, stimulating activities tailored to different ages and abilities, both 1:1 and in small groups.
* Empower young people to choose and participate in activities that interest them, fostering their independence.
* Ensure that each child's social, emotional, and physical needs are met with sensitivity to their religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
* Use various communication methods to effectively engage with children and young people, adapting to their individual needs.
* Provide personal and physical care when needed, with a compassionate approach.
* Keep the Senior Practitioner informed of any changes or concerns regarding the children and young people.
* Uphold safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for all.
* Demonstrate compassion and patience to support young people with additional needs.
* Show creativity, resilience, and motivation to make every session engaging.
* Be flexible and adaptable to respond to the diverse needs of the children and young people.
* Maintain a proactive and ethical attitude with a strong sense of responsibility.
* Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a solid work ethic.
* Be a strong team player who can collaborate effectively.
* Maintain great time management to ensure the smooth running of activities and sessions.
* Work hours: Monday After School Club: 15:15-17:15; Tuesday After School Club: 16:15-18:45; Wednesday After School Club: 16:15-18:45; Wednesday Youth Club: 18:45-21:15; Thursday Youth Club: 18:15-20:45; School holidays: ADHOC hours available on our Playscheme and family activities.
Qualifications
Salary: £12.21 to £13.68 per hour. Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (or working towards it).
About the Role
Kids is seeking a dedicated After School Club Practitioner to join our team, helping to deliver engaging after-school and youth club activities to children and young people with diverse needs across Dudley. You can work on one or more groups a week depending on your availability. This sessional role offers the chance to work alongside experienced practitioners and sessional staff, creating opportunities for young people to socialise, play, and develop their independence in a safe, supportive environment.
