We are seeking a dedicated PE Teaching Assistant to join this school full-time and support the physical education and wellbeing of their students in a specialist alternative provision setting. About the Role As a PE Teaching Assistant, you will: Support the PE teacher in planning and delivering practical physical education, sports and fitness sessions for students (ages 14-16). Encourage and support students' personal development - helping to build confidence, resilience, teamwork, discipline, and positive attitudes through sport and physical activity. Help maintain a safe, structured, supportive and respectful environment that aligns with the schools expectations of conduct, responsibility and self-regulation. Provide both vocational/physical support and pastoral/mentoring support for students who may have struggled in mainstream education or who have social, emotional or behavioural needs. Work collaboratively with other staff to embed routines, consistency and positive relationships - supporting our commitment to a caring, stable environment. Person Specification / What We Are Looking For We welcome applications from individuals who are: Passionate about sport, fitness, physical education and working with young people - a genuine enthusiasm for PE is essential. Energetic, outgoing, confident, and resilient - able to lead by example and stay calm and positive even when working with students who have challenging behaviour or complex needs. Motivated to support young people who benefit from alternative provision, including those with social, emotional or behavioural difficulties. Empathetic, patient, and able to build meaningful relationships, offering both practical guidance and pastoral support. Flexible and adaptable, ready to contribute to a dynamic environment where routines, structure, consistency and positive role-modelling matter.Please note: Previous experience working in a school or with young people is not essential - what matters most is your dedication, passion for PE, and commitment to helping students succeed.
