Job Title: Registered Manager Residential Childrens Home Location: Rochdale Type: Full-Time | 40 hours per week (flexibility required) Salary: up to £62,500 Overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to establish a brand-new childrens home from the ground up. You will be involved in every aspect of setup and development, including staff recruitment, preparing the home for Ofsted registration, and embedding quality standards. Youll be supported by an experienced Responsible Individual and leadership team throughout the process. Key Responsibilities: Lead the Ofsted registration process and become the homes Registered Manager. Develop and implement high-quality, child-centred care aligned with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations and Quality Standards 2015. Recruit, induct, and supervise a skilled staff team. Lead on care and placement planning, safeguarding, staff supervision, communication, and regulatory compliance. Ensure full implementation of statutory and organisational policies and procedures, and contribute to their ongoing development. Maintain effective multi-agency relationships and positive engagement with families and external stakeholders. Provide clear leadership that inspires both young people and staff. Support and monitor the homes budget, rota, training, and admin systems. Contribute to Ofsted inspections, internal audits (Reg 44), and complete Reg 45 reports. Deliver ongoing professional development, appraisals, and supervision for staff. Ensure administrative tools and documentation meet requirements as outlined in the Statement of Purpose. Duties Include: Oversee care delivery, compliance, and safeguarding. Lead staff meetings and allocate individual responsibilities and champion roles. Monitor rota, annual leave, and petty cash spending. Contribute to recruitment, including shortlisting and interview panels. Provide professional leadership and mentoring to staff teams. Ensure childrens individual care plans are tailored and regularly reviewed. Represent the service professionally during inspections, visits, and communications with stakeholders. Essential Criteria: Minimum 1 year of managerial experience within a childrens residential service. QCF Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People (CYP) qualified. Working knowledge of Ofsted inspections and the Quality Standards. Full UK Driving Licence. Willing to undertake or already hold QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management. Ability to work flexible hours, including participation in an on-call rota. Desirable Skills and Experience: Knowledge of attachment theory in residential care settings. Experience with budget management. Familiarity with the referral and matching process for placements.
