2 Exciting opportunities for motivated and organised individuals to join our Paediatric wards as a Ward Clerk working 37.5 hours Monday to Sunday for the Paediatric assessment unit and 30 hour post for our Paediatric inpatient HDU ward .
We are looking for individuals who are patient focused, have excellent administrative and communication skills, and are able to work well as part of an integrated team. The ability to prioritise and organise workloads working very closely with the nursing team and multi disciplinary team.
This post would suit a candidates who are proactive and able to work in a ward environment. The role is an active role supporting patient admissions, discharges, making appointments and follow up with speciality teams on a busy Paediatric assessment unit.
We would welcome applications from candidates without a level 3 business administrator qualification, which could be considered through ongoing personal development.
Main duties of the job
To work with limited supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a clerical support service to medical and nursing staff at ward level within a busy Paediatric inpatient ward & assessment unit. To display sensitivity and tact in dealing with patients and relatives.
To have a responsible outlook in order to cope with the unpredictable nature of ward activity, using prioritising skills and discretion to organise a daily workload to take account of deadlines and degrees of urgency.

Person Specification
Experience
* relevant clerical experience
* Previous NHS experience.
* Experience of patient information systems o (e.g. iPM)
Qualifications
* NVQ Customer Care (or equivalent).
* GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent)
Personal Qualities
* Good team working skills.
* Good interpersonal skills (e.g. customer care skills).
Other
* Basic computer skills (keyboard skills).
