Business Support Officer (12 months maternity cover) – Grade 3 Hours 37 (full time) We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity within the Environmental Health team for a Business Support Officer to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful applicant will be providing essential support to a busy and dynamic team who carry out a wide range of statutory duties across the following areas: Food Safety Environmental Permitting Planning and Licensing Consultations Health and Safety Statutory Nuisance Investigations Animal Activity Licensing Air Quality This role is vital in helping frontline officers deliver key services that have a direct impact on the safety and wellbeing of the residents, workers, and visitors to the borough. You will be assisting with the day-to-day administrative tasks that support the team’s inspections, investigations, and regulatory work. The role will include a handover and shadowing period with the current postholder, to ensure a smooth transition and give you a solid understanding of the work involved. We believe this secondment offers a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the critical work carried out by the Environmental Health team and develop a deeper understanding of how the Council helps to protect public health.
