Overview

Provides high standard clinical physiological analysis in a range of cardiac procedures. Provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to patients including specialist training in advanced techniques ETT, cardiac cath lab, stress echo / TOE. Works independently in areas and actively participates in the department training programme for graduate physiologists. Obtains and maintains all mandatory training and ILS certification.

Successful candidates will be graduates or nearing completion of a BSc Healthcare Science degree.

* Practical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, evidence of CPD from clinical cardiology sources
* Undergraduate experience within clinical cardiology undertaking invasive and non‑invasive procedures
* Record of experience spent in non‑invasive cardiac procedures
* Previous experience with invasive cardiology procedures
* Post‑graduate training in cardiac physiology, BTEC/HNC or MPPM or equivalent
* BSc relevant discipline
* Undertaken recognised training scheme leading to a minimum BSc Clinical Physiology (or equivalent)
* ASCST and/or MSCST
* Member of SCST with appropriate UK professional registration

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single bedrooms and focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.


Ideal Candidate Profile and Career Development

The ideal candidate will be joining a dedicated band of Clinical Physiologists who perform a wide range of cardiac investigations. This is an ideal opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills and further develop your career. It is a busy but rewarding post. Qualified band 5 candidates must have a BSc in Clinical Physiology / Healthcare Science and work towards / already have RCCP status. Trainee Clinical Physiologists must be currently enrolled on a relevant PTP programme and due to graduate. A band 5 scale on annex U may be offered until fully qualified. Apprenticeship positions are available for the right applicant to train to become a clinical physiologist at Sheffield University and obtain a BSc (Honours) Healthcare Science Degree. The department will support the release to attend university. A band 5 scale on annex U will be offered until fully qualified.

Note: Under current Home Office Immigration Rules we are currently unable to offer right‑to‑work visa sponsorship for Band 2 and 3 roles with a salary of less than £25,000 pa as they do not meet the UK Visas & Immigration criteria. Bank posts require upfront payment. DBS applications submitted from 2nd Dec will be subject to the new DBS fee of £26.50 (standard) and £54.50 (enhanced). From April 2017, skilled visa applicants and their adult dependants will be required to provide a criminal record certificate from each country they have lived in consecutively for 12 months or more in the past ten years.
