Smarter Cover is a Life Insurance firm in a period of hyper growth following the release of our own products onto the market.
We have expanded into a new super slick office that allows us to continue our growth as we aim to be 200+ sales people by the end of 2027, and are looking to strengthen our IT function to support this expansion.
Our new office is based close to the train station with excellent links to Leatherhead town and a range of pubs, shops, restaurants and gyms all within walking distance for you to take advantage of on your breaks.
We're looking to add an IT Systems & Support Specialist to our small & agile IT Department. With an IT overhaul in progress and a growing number of employees needing technical support, we're looking for someone with a keen interest in Systems Engineering & IT Second line Support.

Key Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for all IT service desk queries (phone, email, and in person).
* Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues.
* Escalate complex issues to infrastructure support where necessary.
* Set up and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
* Support onboarding and offboarding processes (account creation, equipment setup, etc.).
* Provide excellent customer service and maintain a helpful and approachable attitude.
* Work collaboratively with the wider IT team to ensure smooth IT operations.
* Follow IT policies, procedures, and best practices at all times.
* Assist with troubleshooting of VoIP systems and end-user VoIP software (e.g., Bria, ).
Essential Skills & Experience
* 2+ year experience in a 1st Line Support or similar IT role.
* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
* Solid understanding of Windows 10/11, Office apps, and basic networking concepts.
* Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
* A proactive and resilient mindset, especially during peak workload and technical incidents.
* Exposure to VoIP platforms and software in a support capacity (installing, configuring, or assisting users).
Desirable Skills
* Basic knowledge of Active Directory and Exchange administration.
* Familiarity with remote desktop tools and IT asset management.
* Experience supporting VoIP phone systems and softphones (e.g. Bria).
* Exposure to Linux operating systems (AlmaLinux, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.) — comfortable using the CLI for basic administration tasks.
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, firewalls).
* Experience with Office 365 administration and on-premise Exchange environments.
* Understanding of backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Understanding of IT security best practices (firewall rules, patching, endpoint security).
