We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dependable Class 2 (Category C) Driver to join our busy and growing builders merchants team.
This is a full-time, permanent position offering consistent Monday to Friday work with excellent working hours and no weekend requirements.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of building materials to construction sites, ports, commercial premises, and trade customers across the local and surrounding areas. Deliveries are primarily forklift offload or crane-assisted, meaning handball is kept to a minimum, although there may occasionally be some manual handling involved depending on the delivery location or product.
The role will mainly involve driving a Class 2 vehicle; however, flexibility is required as there will also be occasions where you will be expected to operate a vehicle when needed.
As the face of the company, you will be expected to provide a professional and courteous service to customers while ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver building materials safely and efficiently to customer sites and ports
2. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
3. Ensure loads are secure and transported safely
4. Complete delivery paperwork accurately
5. Maintain excellent customer service standards
6. Follow all driver hours, tachograph, and road transport regulations
7. Support the yard and transport team when required

8. Monday to Friday
9. 07:00 16:00
10. No weekends
Requirements
11. Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
12. Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
13. Previous multidrop or builders merchant experience preferred
14. A HIAB/crane ticket is preferred but will consider applicants without
15. A professional, reliable, and hardworking attitude
16. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
