Job Description
The Sales Team Leader (TL) is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Internal Sales team to ensure delivery to the Sales Plan, as developed by the Head of Sales.
The functions the Sales team are responsible for include:
* Outbound calling, aiming at converting existing customers to a Business Credit Account
* Ensuring that Business Credit Accounts opened become active
* Managing inbound sales leads from our existing customer base
* Ensuring that sales opportunities are identified and efforts are made to convert
* Managing the raising of Customer Purchase Orders (PO’s) to high standards and within SLA
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Coaching:
* Manage and coach a team of Sales Advisors.
* Provide ongoing support, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure the team meets or exceeds performance targets.
* Conduct all HR processes as required: sickness reviews, disciplinaries, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs). Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Sales Targets Delivery:
* Oversee the operational delivery of the Sales Programme.
* Ensure that Sales Targets, primarily Account Opening and Account Activations, are being met.
* Report variance to the Head of Sales, to allow for reasons for variance to be reviewed and action plans developed as required.
* Identify future opportunities to develop the customer base.
Customer Contact:
* Ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently met, to defined quality measures.
* Address and resolve operational challenges to enhance overall team efficiency.
Performance Evaluation and Process Improvements:
* Evaluate individual and team performance through call/case working and quality metrics.
* Identify opportunities for improvement to the process. Conduct regular reviews and assessments to drive continuous improvements.
1-2-1s and Development Opportunities:
* Conduct monthly 1-2-1 meetings with direct reports to discuss performance against metrics, areas for improvement, and development opportunities.
* Collaborate with team members to create actionable plans for professional growth.
Reporting and Monitoring:
* Maintain weekly and monthly reports to track progress against the Sales Plan.
* Analyse data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and areas of success.
Operational Support:
* Be prepared to support the team functions as needed to cover absences and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Work towards the company management system (ZIMS) requirements at all times.
* Assist in the recruitment process as needed. Ensure that customers have a positive experience with Zoro UK Ltd.
Requirements
* Previous experience within a line management role within a sales team (minimum three years)
* Proven record of delivering on growth and retention targets in a B2B environment.
* MRO experience preferred
* Sales and customer experience-focused mindset
* Ability to work independently, whilst supporting team goals and objectives
* Ability to multitask and process a high volume of enquiries
* Excellent eye for detail when dealing with a number of tasks simultaneously
* Ability to remain calm and deal courteously with people whilst working under pressure
* Conscientious, enthusiastic and a self-starter
* PC literate – experience with Salesforce advantageous
* Excellent communication skills (both verbal and listening)
* Experience with eProcurement would be advantageous.
