Robert Half Technology are assisting a large, market-leading media organisation to recruit a Data Engineer on a contract basis. Hybrid working - London based.
Role
* The Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain modern cloud-based data infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
* Collaborate with data analysts, BI teams, and product stakeholders to fulfil their data requirements and support business deliverables.
* Collect, transform, and process datasets from various internal and external sources, ensuring data quality, governance, and integrity.
* Implement efficient data models and schemas within Snowflake, and use DBT for transformation, orchestration, and workflow management.
* Optimise ELT/ETL processes for improved performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues swiftly and effectively across the data platform.
* Work with orchestration tools such as Airflow, ADF, or Prefect to schedule and automate workflows.
* Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering, and continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Profile
* Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Data Engineer in a commercial environment.
* Strong commercial experience with Snowflake and DBT.
* Proficient in SQL and experienced in data modelling within cloud data warehouses.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
* Experience with Python, Databricks, or related data engineering tools beneficial.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
