Our expanding paediatric services require paediatric nursing and support staff who are skilled, clinically competent and highly organised, and who are able to safely and efficiently manage a high turnover of patients with complex care requirements. The service supports patients across the Child Assessment Unit, Outwood Ward (inpatient), Children's Outpatients and our newly developed Children's Day Procedures Unit. The service as a whole provides acute and planned care for a broad range of specialities including medicine, surgery, oncology, diabetes, respiratory, dental, endocrinology and trauma. The service also provides specialist nursing care from a large team of highly competent and dedicated nurse specialists. Patients range from newborn to 16 years and can present with complex medical and behavioural needs.
This Matron for Children and Young People post will further strengthen and expand our current senior nursing structure across the service and will provide strong senior leadership for the nursing and care teams.
