Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

Location:Horley

Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with special needs. Working alongside dedicated teachers, you will help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels understood and can thrive. Your support, whether one-on-one or in small groups, will be vital to a student's success in overcoming learning barriers.

Key Responsibilities

* Offer specialized support to students with special educational needs (SEN).

* Work closely with class teachers to deliver effective, tailored lessons.

* Provide individual or small-group support to students who need additional help.

* Help manage the classroom to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources, adapting them as needed.

* Support school events, activities, and parent meetings when required.


Requirements

* Experience working with children, preferably with those with special educational needs.

* A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with young learners.

* Strong communication and teamwork skills.

* Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

* Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are a plus, but not mandatory.

* A commitment to safeguarding children (an enhanced DBS check is required).
