Maintenance Electrician – HMP Sudbury

Standard hours: 39 hours per week, 08:00 – 17:00 with an hour earlier finish every Friday. Weekend work 1 in 3 rota, 15% allowance.
Job summary: We help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly. The Electrician ensures planned and reactive maintenance work is carried out safely, compliant and timely.
What You Will Do
* Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
* Testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with current IEE wiring regulations
* Responding promptly to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
* Performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance and diagnosing/replacing failed domestic electrical components
* Actively fault finding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems
* Undertaking electrical installation activities according to provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations
* Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services, and overseeing the BMS System
* Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals, and handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager
What You Will Bring
* Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above).
* BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition.
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing.
* Ability to work alone and use initiative.
* Capable of working at heights.
