Every day, our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. Working as part of our National Trusts Tax team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage a large and varied portfolio of clients with support from an exceptional network of senior leadership and junior colleagues. We work to develop our internal talent and offer a great deal of client exposure and responsibility in return.

Our GT Private Assurance – Trusts and Estates team specialises in managing all aspects of the tax affairs of trusts and estates. You will manage a client portfolio, deal directly with trustees and beneficiaries, and handle tasks such as preparing annual trust and estate accounts, tax returns, and HMRC reporting, including Inheritance Tax and trust registration. You will also work on advisory projects, ranging from day-to-day client queries to complex structuring projects and family wealth planning. Building strong relationships quickly is essential.

Our Tax practice comprises over 15 teams with more than 40 partners, serving clients in sectors like media, entertainment, technology, finance, and non-profit. Joining our tax service line, you will focus on understanding client issues and helping them operate in a tax-efficient manner. Challenges are part of the job, but you will be supported to find solutions and excel.

Role Overview

As an Associate in our Trusts Tax team, you will:

1. Gain challenging on-the-ground experience in compliance and advisory roles, working directly with clients to optimize their tax efficiency.
2. Conduct technical research, produce tax reports, and liaise with HM Revenue & Customs.
3. Enjoy secondment opportunities and build internal networks.
4. Stay updated on UK and international tax regulation developments.
5. Learn on the job with support for gaining a professional qualification.

Candidate Profile

You should have a working knowledge of Trusts Tax and experience managing a small client portfolio. We value professional growth and support colleagues in their development.

The minimum requirement is a professional qualification (ATT) with post-qualification experience.

Preferred skills include:

* Some years of tax experience
* Company accountant experience

We welcome candidates who are committed to their professional and personal growth, even if they don’t meet every criterion.

Why Join Us

We embrace diversity and foster an inclusive culture where everyone’s contributions are valued. Our open culture means you'll interact with leaders who care about your development. We support flexible working options to help maintain work-life balance.

Beyond work, you can make a societal impact through secondments, charity work, and supporting entrepreneurs worldwide. Our values—purposefully driven, actively curious, candid but kind—guide everything we do.

We seek individuals eager to contribute, innovate, and exceed expectations, doing what’s right for the firm, clients, colleagues, and themselves.
