Creative Coordinator (10 to 15 hours per week)
Location: Kilmarnock, KA3 7PR
Salary: £9,846.56 (£12.64 per hour)
Hours: 15 hours per week (10 hours worked weekly, with annualised hours for events and productions)
This permanent role will give you the opportunity to work within Take A Bow Development Trust in Kilmarnock. Developing the Trust’s vision and working closely with a small team to ensure effective development of the creative opportunities for the trust are reached.
The Creative Coordinator will be formally accountable to the Chief Executive(s) for all creative direction of the organisation.
The Creative Coordinator will be passionate about working with communities and creative project delivery. You will be creative in problem solving and project delivery.
You will work in conjunction with the Chief Executive’s in producing set, costumes and props for theatre productions. Working alongside teaching staff and volunteers you will lead on all creative aspects of Take A Bow’s productions.
Liaising with local suppliers, you will assist to bring Take A Bow’s productions to life.
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Theatre production
* Provide knowledge and expertise on set and costume design
* Reading scripts to understand production and its aims
* Producing plans and drawings of sets and costumes
* Preparing estimates of set and costume costs and managing set and costume budget
* Create, design or source costumes and set to fit the production's design concept and budget, discussing all aspects with production staff
* Ability to ensure the vision of each performance is reflected accurately through set and costume design

* Ability to work to tight deadlines
Programme Development
* To encourage local creativity, vibrancy and diversity
* Support the delivery of Take A Bow performances, holiday workshops and any additional opportunities, providing creative knowledge and expertise to each
Communication
* To develop and maintain effective communication and foster partnerships with a variety of organisations and businesses
* Clear consistent communication with the Chief Executive officer(s), reporting all aspects of creative development regularly.

* Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
* Costume and set design skills and knowledge - ability to create, design or source suitable costumes and sets to fit production purpose
* Sewing ability to fit, alter and adapt costumes
* Creative arts qualification or experience
* Be able to demonstrate experience of leading on successful creative projects
* Experience of working in youth theatre would be a benefit
* Experience of managing budgets
* Driver’s license

Annual Leave: 5.5 weeks – 82.5 hours (inclusive of all public holidays)
