With strong organisational and project management skills, the post holder will support and lead defined areas of financial, analytical, and administrative work. They will provide structure and coordination across the team, ensuring priorities are effectively managed and deadlines met.
The role requires the ability to work independently, managing competing demands while maintaining high professional standards. The post holder will contribute to a positive and professional image of the Finance function, building effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
To deliver comprehensive business coordination, analytical, and administrative support to the Finance function, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of services.
* Provide high‑level coordination and administrative support to the Deputy Director of Finance.
* Undertake detailed analysis and interpretation of complex financial and non‑financial data, producing accurate and timely reports to support decision‑making.
* Support and contribute to management accounting, financial accounting, and transaction processing activities as required.
* Plan, coordinate, and support projects, including developing project plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery against agreed timelines.
* Coordinate the production and quality assurance of reports for internal and external stakeholders, including Board‑level documentation.
* Build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Support the management of the Finance team’s workload, helping to prioritise tasks and ensure key deadlines and objectives are met.
* Act as a coordinator for specific functional areas, such as elements of the risk register, recruitment processes, and data collection systems.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with information governance, data protection, and records management standards.
* Take responsibility for defined workstreams and projects.
Work environment
We are an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Over 5,000 people make up the Trust, and we work in people’s homes, community clinics, and community hospitals.

Person specification
Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a related subject
* NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent experience
Experience
* Experience managing a workload unsupervised for prolonged periods
* Previous team administration experience
Skills and Aptitude
* Highly numerate with ability to develop and interpret spreadsheets and other numerical data
* Ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports, data and letters
