O&M Field Service Engineer – Renewable Energy (Stafford Area)

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled O&M Field Service Engineer to join our growing renewable energy operations team. You’ll be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of utility-scale solar PV sites across the Stafford region.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on industry-leading solar energy projects, contributing to the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and corrective maintenance on solar PV installations, inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
* Respond to site faults, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to restore optimal system performance.
* Perform electrical testing, inspection, and reporting in line with relevant standards and safety procedures.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies, RAMS, and statutory regulations.
* Liaise with the control room, performance analysts, and asset management teams to support remote monitoring and fault resolution.
* Maintain detailed service records, documentation, and site reports using company systems.
* Support improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, efficiency, and safety performance.
* Represent the company professionally when dealing with landowners, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (or higher).
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) qualification.
* Experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within the renewable energy or power generation sector.
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, particularly on inverter and LV/HV systems.
* Working knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring platforms (desirable).
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* HV Authorisation (desirable but not essential – training can be provided).
