Responsibilities of the FRA Carpenter Role: Key Responsibilities As an FRA Carpenter, you will be responsible for: Installation and Maintenance of Fire Doors Install and maintain fire doors according to fire safety regulations (e.g., BS 476, BS 9999). Ensure correct installation of fire-rated door hardware (locks, hinges, closers). Apply intumescent strips and fire seals to doors and frames. Remedial and Upgrade Work Retrofit and upgrade existing fire doors to meet current fire resistance standards. Carry out repairs on damaged or non-compliant fire doors. Fireproofing Installation Apply fireproofing materials and coatings to timber doors and door frames. Install and maintain fire-resistant seals. Compliance and Testing Ensure all fire doors are properly certified and compliant with industry standards. Conduct tests and inspections to verify the integrity and functionality of fire doors.
