We're James & Ella, a happiness and wellbeing company for dogs founded by James Middleton. Since launching as a D2C premium dog food brand in 2019, we've expanded into national retailers across the UK - including Sainsburys, Waitrose, Ocado and a number of independent retailers. To help manage the growing operations, we're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented
Operations Executive
. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, adaptable, and enjoys working across operations, finance, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Logistics
* Manage and book customer retail orders, ensuring smooth and timely deliveries.
* Review and monitor stock levels weekly to maintain availability across all SKUs.
* Oversee the purchase order process and liaise with suppliers to manage lead times.
* Track and replenish packaging stock for specific product lines.
* Support event preparation and logistics when needed.
Finance & Admin
* Invoice customer orders and track payments.
* Assist with bookkeeping and other finance-related administrative tasks.
* Provide support for ad-hoc and project-based operational tasks.
Customer Service (cover)
* Respond to customer queries promptly and professionally via email or other platforms.
* Help ensure an excellent customer experience across all touchpoints.
What We're Looking For
* 1-2 years minimum experience in an operations role, or relevant degree.
* Strong working knowledge of
Excel or Google Sheets
(comfortable with formulas, data entry, and analysis).
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Confidence working with data and product information across multiple systems.
* Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A willingness to learn and support across multiple functions.
Bonus skills (not essential):
* Experience in
wholesale, e-commerce, or marketplaces
.
* Previous experience in a customer or client-facing role.
