Oxford Internet Institute, Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities
The Oxford Internet Institute, founded in 2001, is a multidisciplinary research and teaching department of the University of Oxford, dedicated to the social science of the Internet.
We are seeking four Research Assistants to join the Research Group on Digital Ethics and Defence Technologies, led by Professor Mariarosaria Taddeo. The role focuses on the ethical governance of emerging technologies in defence.
Position Details
The position is full-time and fixed term for 3 months or to the funding end date of 25 February 2026, whichever is sooner, with an aim to start on 1 December 2025.
Responsibilities
* Undertake comprehensive and systematic literature reviews
* Draft results for publication in peer-reviewed journals
* Gather, analyse and present data from a variety of sources
* Collaborate with a team of experts within the research group
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must hold a first degree, together with relevant experience, in one or more of the following areas:
* digital ethics
* governance of emerging technology and law
* ethics/governance of cybersecurity
* ethics/governance of blockchain and crypto
They will have excellent written, verbal and data presentation skills.
