Job summary Join our Cardiology non-invasive team at Glenfield hospital. You will be trained to perform ECG's along with basic ECG interpretation. You will be given the opportunity to work towards the SCST competency certificate. We offer full training and support. You will also be training to apply Holter monitors. You will work across four sites, Glenfield hospital, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Hinckley community diagnostic center. Main duties of the job To undertake a range of routine, basic cardiac physiological measurement tests on both adult and paediatric patients. To adhere to departmental policies and procedures, ensuring a quality service is maintained to patients, general practitioners and clinicians Following departmental training and assessment, perform the procedures/investigations listed below on a routine basis, ensuring repeatable, accurate electrode placement: - * Electrocardiography (ECG) * Ambulatory Monitoring (ECG) Assist new or less experienced staff in carrying out the procedures above by providing advice and demonstrating the procedure when necessary. Ensure accurate documentation of procedures performed on a manual or computerised database. Ensure all equipment used is safe to use, kept clean and fully stocked. Participate in audits, research and clinical trials as directed by the Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist, performing tests to agreed protocols. Participate in the departmental appraisal process for professional/personal development and progression. To recognise life threatening arrhythmias and have the ability to know when to seek assistance from senior staff within the area.
