We are currently looking for an experienced Wood Machinist on a full time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join our hardworking and dedicated team producing high quality bespoke joinery products that meet tight deadlines and high customer expectations
* This job will require a high level of attention to detail with good finishing skills, you must be able to operate, set up, and maintain machinery.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and written instructions. Ensuring all work produced against drawings to ensure quality and accuracy of work
* Hands on knowledge of the following machinery :- Band Saw, Spindle Moulder, Edge Bander, Dimension Saw, Rip Saw, Four Sided Planer, Tenoner, Planer/Thicknesser, Cross Cut Saw, Morticer
* Setting machinery and changing tooling as required.
* Adhere to safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) like ear protection and goggles in noisy, dusty environments
* Produce high quality, accurate and timely work to meet deadlines with the ability to prioritise workload
* Excellent rate of pay
Key skills required :
* The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years' machinist experience with all types of board materials and timber related products.
* Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in woodworking environment as tasks may also need completing outside of the machinist role to support the team.
* Proven experience as a wood machinist within the Woodworking industry
* Able to follow procedures and willing to take the initiative to improve processes
* Self motivated and ability to work independently as well as being part of a team
