Main duties of the job
At Cygnet Healthcare, we focus strongly on occupational therapy through support and guidance from Clinical Leads and Occupational Therapy Directors. We employ evidence-based practices within our service lines, guided by clinical steering groups, with Occupational Therapists playing a key role. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess and treat occupational dysfunction under supervision, with opportunities to supervise others and support student education. The role offers learning, development, and research opportunities, supported by a structured appraisal and supervision system based on RCOT's Career Development Framework.

Service Line: Female Mental Health Acute Ward (Compton Ward)
Site Summary:
Cygnet Nield House in Crewe is a 29-bed mental health hospital for women, split into two wards:
* Clarion Ward: 14 beds for complex personality disorder and co-morbid disordered eating.
* Compton Ward: 15 beds for acute mental health episodes requiring emergency admission.
The site has a dedicated clinical team, including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing, supported by a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, an OTA, and two Activity Coordinators.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Led by our occupational therapy directors, we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. We foster a collaborative environment with opportunities for involvement in service development and specialist interest groups. Each service line has a clinical lead to develop evidence-based practice and occupational therapy pathways, ensuring our therapists have a voice in service model development.
