1. JOB ROLE:
Assisting with the overall operation of the Malt Cafe preparing, and serving hot food, sandwiches, etc with food service from 09.30am in the morning. Maintaining a high level of health and hygiene standards. Working with the manager and team of volunteers ensuring the smooth running of the Café front of house for food service and sales.
Covering the Kitchen alone on a Monday from 09.00am and assisting the Café Manager Tuesday - Thursday 11.00am pm and occasional Saturdays to cover holidays and work events.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Preparation of hot food, cakes, sandwiches and salads.
· Kitchen cleanliness to meet current Health and Hygiene standards daily
· Work with Cafe Manager ensuring volunteer rota's are covered, providing necessary service in all catering areas.
· Support with sourcing and ordering stock including food drinks and ice cream.
· Prepare serving area for service, inspect equipment clean and in working order, fridges up to temperature
· Stock up shelves and display cabinets, check coffee machine etc.
· Check café clean/tidy in preparation for customers
· Check notices and signage regularly for accuracy
· Clean fridges and other kitchen and bar equipment regularly, rotate food in freezer to insure in date
· At busy times be prepared to deliver food to table
· Till training
· Food preparation and service for meeting and events as agreed with Catering Manager.
3. COMMUNICATION
a. To work in collaboration with the Catering Manager and the staff to ensure that effective communication exists between office and café
4. INFORMATION:
a. To work with Catering Manager to ensure Food and Hygiene inspection are up to date. be aware of any contracts, leases on any café equipment and termination date
5. OTHER:
a. To have a good understanding of the Association's objectives.
b. To attend staff training as reasonably required.
c. To participate in staff meetings as reasonably required
d. To work with Catering Manager on developing and expanding the Café and Catering areas.

Pay: £12.40-£13.00 per hour
