Team Overview
The Design department is responsible for developing innovative, practical, and fully coordinated mechanical and electrical building services solutions tailored to each project. Working closely with clients, project teams, and the BIM department, the design team transforms concepts into detailed, build-ready technical designs that meet regulatory standards, client specifications, and sustainability goals. Their work underpins the technical accuracy and efficiency of our installations, ensuring seamless integration from planning through to construction.
Role Overview
The SolidWorks Engineer is responsible for developing, standardizing, and delivering high-quality 3D parametric and fabrication models for MEP prefabrication using SolidWorks. A core function of this role is ensuring seamless digital workflow integration and interoperability between SolidWorks models and BIM platforms (Revit/Navisworks). The role also involves technical support, mentoring BIM teams on SolidWorks prefabrication workflows, and continuous optimization of design and manufacturing processes. This position requires strong expertise in SolidWorks design, a solid understanding of BIM/MEP construction practices, and a focus on fabrication efficiency.
Key Focus Areas
* Design & Modeling: Expert-level 3D parametric and assembly modeling in SolidWorks for MEP systems and prefab assemblies.
* Interoperability: Managing integration workflows and data exchange between SolidWorks and BIM environments (Revit/IFC).
* Standards & Development: Creating and maintaining SolidWorks templates, libraries, and custom features aligned with fabrication requirements.
* Technical Support: Supporting and upskilling BIM teams in transitioning to SolidWorks-based prefabrication.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver MEP prefabrication designs in SolidWorks through advanced 3D parametric, assembly, and fabrication modelling, producing detailed drawings for manufacturing and installation. Support the Lead SolidWorks Engineer in integrating SolidWorks with BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks, IFC), maintaining data integrity and efficient workflows. Collaborate with prefabrication teams to align modelling standards, templates, and libraries for optimal material use and cost efficiency. Contribute to developing and maintaining SolidWorks templates, part libraries, and custom features, while assisting in project delivery and mentoring the BIM team in SolidWorks-based prefabrication processes. Continuously enhance digital workflows and stay current with emerging SolidWorks features and industry innovations to drive continuous improvement.
