Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Are you an experienced structural designer able to take responsibility for complex schemes as well as doing hands-on design and running projects?
Interested in working in the specialist power industry?
This well-established, Epsom-based specialist design consultancy is part of a large utilities contractor group. They are looking to expand to around 40 staff in the design office and are currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join their team.
Responsibilities
* Pick up hands-on design using Tekla
* Mentor more junior staff
* Oversee compliance with QA/QC procedures
* Act as technical lead on projects
* Take responsibility for projects across the power network sector, including work for firms such as SSE
Qualifications
* Chartered MIStructE or MICE, or nearing this status
* Excellent technical background in structural design
* Project management and people management skills
* Experience in the power sector highly advantageous
Projects
* Substation design
* Battery storage facilities
* Design of blast-resistant buildings, switch houses, GIS buildings, and buildings to house transformer cells
* Design of specialist steelwork structures and supports underground and inside tunnels to carry heavy power cables
* Refurbishment and new-build projects involving steel, concrete, and masonry ranging from small to multi-million‑pound schemes
