Planning Engineer Location: One of VPI's UK sites (Damhead Creek, Immingham, Rye House, Shoreham) Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £67,000 - £71,000 per annum Benefits: Pension, Private Medical, Incentive Plan, 25 Holidays About the Role We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our Portfolio Engineering Team. This role is critical in planning and delivering large-scale projects across multiple sites, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. You will act as the key interface between site teams, portfolio support functions, and contract partners to achieve project milestones and KPIs. Key Responsibilities Lead planning and execution of projects, ensuring KPIs (safety, programme, financial, QA) are met. Ensure adherence to VPI Portfolio Outage Best Practice Document and milestone targets. Liaise with site outage managers and support functions (H&S, Environmental, Engineering, Finance & Performance). Report on project KPIs using standardised formats for stakeholders. Work closely with contract partners to integrate project programmes into overall schedules. Apply planning requirements to ad hoc and emergent projects for safe and efficient delivery. Travel frequently across sites. Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experience with large rotating plant and/or HRSG pressure systems in industrial processes (Power Generation desirable). Expert knowledge of project execution from planning to handover and contract completion. Minimum HNC qualification; degree in an engineering discipline preferred. Strong understanding of health & safety, CDM, and environmental legislation. Proficient in budget forecasting, financial reporting, and contract management. Familiarity with quality systems essential for large-scale projects. Solid understanding of work planning tools and control processes. Good working knowledge of Generation Safety Rules and business IT systems (MS Office, Maximo, SAI 360, MS Project or Primavera). Desirable Skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across sites. Why Join Us?
